At the annual August Meeting gathering of women in Obiohuru in Isiala Mbano Local Government area of Imo State, women have been charged to use the one-month occasion to identify with projects and awareness programmes that will enhance lives of women in their various domains.

The programme is the annual gathering of women, meant to brainstorm and embark on developmental projects in their areas.

Giving the charge, the Vicar-General of the Catholic Church of the East, the United States, Rev. Fr. Chiedozie Modestus Chilaka, urged women to embark on life enhancing projects, giving alms to the poor, making donations, engaging in community services, desisting from gossips, quarrels and other forms of brigandage.

He said; “Women should think and visualise what the community, state and the nation at large should benefit, especially in terms of development and spiritual growth.”

At the event, which commenced with march-past, cultural dance, drama, among others, President of Catholic Women Organisation  (CWO), Mrs. Rebecca Agim, said the year’s meeting was unique, tailored to enhance the diversification of the nation’s economy, commending Chilaka, for his religious assistance to the women.
