Yobe reduces working hours for civil servants

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has approved the adjustment of official working hours in the public service in the holy month of Ramadan.

This was contained in a circular titled: “Adjustment of official working hours during the month of Ramadan” with reference number GO/S/HOS/GEN/3/V.V 27th March, 2023; signed by Engr. Isyaka Alhaji Lawan on behalf of the state Head of Service.

According to the circular, civil servants are to report to their duty posts from 8:00am-3:00pm on Mondays to Thursdays, while on Fridays is from 8:00am-12:00noon.

“This adjustment covers the month of Ramadan (fasting) only and normal working hours commence immediately after the month of Ramadan”, it stated.

Buni had felicitated with the people of the state and the entire Muslim Ummah on the commencement of the Ramadan fast with a call on them to seek Allah’s forgiveness, internalize the teachings of Ramadan, build new relationships and pray for security and prosperity of the state and country.
