Abia probes extortion, harassment allegations at State University

The Abia State Executive Council (SEC) has constituted a five-member special committee to investigate allegations of harassment, extortion and related misconduct involving students and lecturers at Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu. The decision was taken during the council’s weekly meeting held on Monday, May 11, 2026, as part of efforts by the state government to uphold high academic and ethical standards in the institution.
