One person commits suicide every 40 seconds, says WHO
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has released frightening statistics on suicide rates worldwide, saying at least one person dies every 40 seconds from suicide. Each year, about 800,000 people die to suicide, WHO reports, with suicide being the second-leading cause of death among young people aged 15-29, after road injury.
