Austin Okere to speak at first ICT success summit

Austin Okere, founder and vice chairman, Computer Warehouse Group (CWG) Plc, will be delivering the keynote at the median edition of ICT Success Summit 2016.

The summit has been designed to let Nigerians have an insight on the role and impact of Information and Communications Technology since the sector was liberalized till date on the growth of our country’s economy.

This summit would enable consumers of ICT products and services meet with the service providers, resellers and other partners to tell these success stories first hand. The event is holding on October 29, 2016 at Eko Hotels and Suites Victoria Island Lagos.

Organizers of the summit Datapoint Consulting and Nigeria CommunicationsWeek said that Okere was chosen because of his verse knowledge in information and communications technology in the country and his company playing in various areas of ICT such software, connectivity, computer hardware, broadcasting among others.

Ken Nwogbo, chief executive officer, Nigeria CommunicationsWeek, said Okere’s pedigree and contributions to the ICT sector is not in doubt and therefore highly qualified to deliver the keynote at the summit that aims at epitomizing the contributions of ICT to the country’s economy.

Okere is also a member of the World Economic Forum Business Council on Innovation and Intrapreneurship. He serves on the Board of the National Competiveness Council of Nigeria and Initiative for Global Development. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria.

He possesses an unprecedented flair for visioning, strategy and branding. He is a member of several professional and leadership bodies, including ICT Advisory Board, Nigerian Competitive Council and Nigerian Economic Summit Group.

He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Nigerian-South African Chamber of Commerce.

Meanwhile, Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) the umbrella organization of all Information Technology Professionals, Interest Groups and Stakeholders in Nigeria has formally endorsed ICT Success Summit 2016.

In a letter of support for the event signed by Jide Awe, chairman, Event and Publicity, NCS, said that there is no other time to celebrate and sing the songs of ICT success than now that the sector is driving almost every facets of our national life.

According to Lucky Uduikhue Programme Coordinator, ICT Success Summit said that NCS endorsement of the event is a testimony of the acceptance of ICT Success Summit 2016 to stakeholders in the industry.
