Newly appointed board members to facilitate innovation — science minister

Mr Mohammed Abdullahi, Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation, has said that the newly appointed board members of agencies under the ministry, would facilitate the innovation agenda of the ministry.

The minister said this at the inauguration of the governing council and board members of agencies of the Federal Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation on Thursday, in Abuja.

He called on the board members to support the various policies put in place by the government, urging them to acquaint themselves with the provisions of all the existing operational policies of the ministry and other government policies guiding the conduct and functions of the officers.

Abdullahi said he had no doubt their contributions and experience would provide strategies and ways for adequate investments in the Nigeria STI sector to drive the diversification agenda of the government.

In response, Alhaji Gambo Magaji, Chairman, Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO), who spoke on behalf of all the board members, thanked President, Muhammadu Buhari for finding them worthy to serve the country.

Magaji said their appointment was a challenge to them.
