FG told to inaugurate NDDC board

Ovie Marshal Lucky Ochuko Ararile

Federal Government has again be told to inaugurate the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), as the concept of interim administration currently applied in running the Commission did not conform to the Act that established the board.

The traditional ruler of Umiaghwa-Abraka kingdom in Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Lucky Ochuko Ararile, made the call during his 10th coronation anniversary.

According to him, the inauguration of the NDDC Board is long overdue as different interest groups are running out of patients, watching few individuals mismanaging the resources unchallenged.

He said the non-inauguration of the NDDC board remained a burning issue in the minds of the Niger Delta people, which might create bad blood, if not properly handled.

The monarch lamented a situation, whereby an individual was asked to execute a N400 billion project, without proper supervision or monitoring by the board, describing it as a dangerous trend.
