Aptech successfully concluded the 4th Edition of TechWiz, one-of-its-kind global IT competition offering a platform where student skillsets are put to the test. Around 3200 participants made 680 teams and over 580 projects were submitted for this competition. Industry experts reviewed the entries, and winners shared prizes from a total prize pool of USD 43,200.
As a trailblazer in the IT education sector, Aptech introduced TechWiz in 2019, a competition designed to enhance interactive and engaging learning experiences. This competition evaluates students’ skills, proficiency, time management, and teamwork abilities on a global scale, offering them opportunities to immerse themselves in real-world scenarios, collaborate within teams, and develop websites, apps, IOT solutions and more.
The competition had 6 categories namely Web design & development, Web application development, Mobile app development, IOT solutions development, Big data processing using data science, AI & ML for intelligent solutions. The themes presented to the students were futuristic and on smart innovations with the use of new-age technologies. The project duration varied from 72 working hours to 120 working hours. 66 shortlisted teams were then evaluated by an international jury from over 5 countries.
Additionally, comprehensive webinars were conducted for participants, covering topics such as Data Science and AI & ML (Tips and tricks), Effective Communication, and Software Project Management, providing invaluable insights for their tech journey.
This event was succeeded by a Virtual Awards Ceremony, during which the winners received recognition. The online gathering included participants from more than 10 countries, including partners, staff, and students. Notably, students from Nigeria (Enugu and Ota) demonstrated exceptional performance in the 4th edition of the Techwiz, earning accolades and rewards in the fields of Big Data Processing using Data Science and Website Design and Development.
TechWiz allows students to gain valuable real-world experience, exposing them to challenges encountered in professional environments. Working in teams on live projects enables them to work independently on individual tasks, adding an exciting element to the competition.
