Mohammed presents N94.6bn supplementary budget to Bauchi Assembly
Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, on Tuesday, presented an N94.6 billion supplementary budget to the State House of Assembly for approval.

The governor’s request was conveyed in a letter and read at the plenary by the Majority Leader of the House, Babayo Akuyam.
He said the request was pursuant to Section 122 of the constitution, adding that the budget would facilitate the execution of priority projects aimed at improving the well-being of the citizens.

Mohammed reiterated his administration’s commitment to infrastructure and human capital development, health, and educational sectors.
The Speaker, Abubakar Sulaiman referred the proposed estimate to the House Committee on Budget and Appropriation for further legislative actions.
Meanwhile, Sulaiman announced the establishment of the House Committee on Food Security and Nutrition.
According to him, the committee will assist in achieving optimal nutrition status in the state.
“This committee is for the citizens of Bauchi with a focus on the most vulnerable, especially women and children as well as Internally Displaced Persons to meet their food and nutrition needs”.
