1 Corinthians 6:9-10: “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind. 10: Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
The world sees sinful activities as enjoyment. Those in the world believe that a man, who is living a loose lifestyle, is enjoying himself. This is not true! This false reasoning shows that they are ignorant of God’s ways. There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end result is destruction.
The word of God leads to eternal life. It is the direct opposite of the ways the people of the world live. The people of the world jubilate when individuals disobey God through their foolish actions.
Our Lord Jesus Christ came to counter these actions so that mankind can make heaven. The devil does not want anyone to make heaven, so, he encourages us to take bribe, fornicate, commit adultery, forge records and participate in armed robbery, among others.
The world acknowledges the rich, irrespective of the means that the riches are acquired through. God abhors the ways of the world and whosoever must make heaven must shun the lifestyle of the people of the world, and completely embrace Jesus Christ. This is why Matthew 7:13-14 says: “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. 14: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
The two words, “strait and narrow” are synonymous to “carry out.” The Church, as an outpost established by our Lord Jesus Christ to prepare people for heaven, has emphatically made it clear that although, Christians live in the world, they are not of the world. The people of the world will tell you to behave like Romans when you are in Rome, but God says no to this. Christians are to live righteously, wherever they go to. The Church and her foot soldiers -Christians – have the sole duty of converting people to Christianity, and also to help those converted to make heaven. Although, making heaven is not a bed of roses, it is a possible task and there are people that have achieved the feat. It is for this reason that one has to continually make conscious efforts to work out his/her salvation with fear and trembling.
Mark 9:43-47 advises: “And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched. 44: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 45: And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 46: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 47: And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.”
If we should go by the standard of the world, no man would be qualified to make heaven. The world is full of distractions, which constitute a hindrance to the heavenly race. However, there is sufficient grace for anyone who allows the spirit of God to rule over his life to make heaven. As a Christian and a disciple of Jesus Christ, you can do all things through Jesus Christ that strengthens you.
Many people in the world today, are engrossed in pursuing wealth. They are interested in making wealth by all means to the detriment of their souls; even when our Lord Jesus Christ has made us to understand that our souls are the most important thing to God. We must shun anything that can hinder our spiritual life, or anything that can stop us from making heaven. The things of the world will remain here on earth, while the souls will go to either heaven, or hell. We should not make the later an option. Mark 8:36-37 notes: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37: Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Anyone that is looking forward to entering heaven must live a holy and a righteous life. He/she must shun everything that is against the will of God, whether it brings wealth or not. This is why the way to heaven is narrow and difficult for many people to locate.
It is not the will of God that any man should go to hell. God wants every man, irrespective of colour, status or tribe to embrace our Lord Jesus Christ, live a holy and a righteous life and to make heaven.
God has given us conscience to choose between good and evil, but many are choosing the way of the world — evil — and not minding that all human actions have their consequences that will certainly come according to our actions or choices. Having watched human activities and not satisfied with it, God in Revelations 22:11-14 notes: “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12: And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14: Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”
If the tone of this statement is anything to go by, God is not happy with what is happening in the world. Despite the sacrificial death of our Lord Jesus Christ, the people of the world still wallow in sin. Even, the Israelites that witnessed the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ still do not believe in Him.
The Gentiles have one leg in the church and the other leg in the idol coven. Killing, kidnapping for ransom, idol worshipping, fornication and adultery, money rituals and all other vices that are against God’s will are now the order of the day. There are prophets, apostles, evangelists and other men of God that are teaching the people of the world the ways of God and leading some to repentance, yet majority of them are still far from God. God demands holiness from every man.
The word holy or sanctify could be used for both persons and things. When it is used for a person, it means to set apart for God’s purpose. It could also mean:
• Believers that are eternally set apart for God’s use. Those that have accepted the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Heb.10: 10).
• Believers that have become saints or holy. They heard the message and immediately believed in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour (Heb.3: 1).
• Believers that are being sanctified by the Holy Spirit through the scripture (Jn 17: 17).
• Believers that have been completely sanctified and are waiting for the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is proper to worship God, who gives life. He has the power to forgive sins and accept anyone in heaven. We are to serve Him. Even though it may be difficult, the reward of eternal life in heaven should, however, propel us to do so. No one has ever served God and ends up being disappointed; serve Him and you will be rewarded both in this world and in heaven.
Testimony Of The Lord’s Doing
‘How I Was Delivered From Drunkenness, Smoking, Undue Retirement’
MY name is Brother Obi Obiora and I reside in Abuja. I came to The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries with a truckload of problems, and want to testify that God has, by benevolence, lifted the burden off my shoulder.
On the very day I set my foot on The Lord’s Chosen, while rolling myself on the ground at the altar, I made prayers to God to roll away my problems. Some of the burdens tormenting me were the issue of drunkenness and smoking. I had been into alcohol and smoking since 1979. And all efforts to stop these nasty habits proved abortive. I consulted prayer houses and churches, but deliverance was not received, until I was invited to the Lord’s Chosen by someone. Initially, I was reluctant to join the Church, but when I came and heard the undiluted Word of God, I gave my life to Jesus and received salvation. The moment Christ came into my life, all desires and thirst for alcohol and smoking ceased.
That was how the yoke of 30 years cigarette smoking and drinking of alcohol was crushed in my life. Having received the goodness of God, I did away with every other thing that was not godly in my life, such as rings, bangles, necklaces, and the Seven Books of Moses. All these and many more were taken to the church and were destroyed.
Besides having genuine salvation at The Lord’s Chosen, God also delivered me from what would have resulted in a fatal car accident. The enemies wanted to waste my life through that accident. It happened that I was driving, when suddenly my car veered into the bush and was about to plunge into a deep ditch, when it abruptly stopped about five feet away from a gully. What and how the car stopped is still baffling to me till date.
Again, not quite long ago, my establishment issued a letter, asking us to go on retirement, when we were not due for retirement. I presented the satanic letter to the God of Chosen in prayer and during one of the deliverance services; our General Overseer prophetically mentioned the case, prayed over it and cancelled the intent of the letter. He commanded the person concerned to go and pick his letter of promotion. Lo and behold, as I boldly obeyed the command of our General Overseer and went to the office, the letter was converted to promotion. The Satanic letter was changed to a letter of promotion to a higher office. I, therefore, thank God for His mercy upon my life. God of Chosen is so great and may His name be glorified in Jesus name.
