Police in Jigawa State have arrested one Tukur Abdulmumi, suspected to be a drug peddler. The suspect was apprehended at Danladi Village in Sule Tankarkar LGA during a raid by police detectives.
During the arrest, Abdulmumi was found in possession of 24,000 Exol tablets, valued at N1.2 million.
Preliminary investigations also led to the arrest of Adamu Babangida, 42, of the same address. Both suspects were reportedly coming from Kano State on a Motobi motorcycle to dispose of the drugs. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Dutse for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
The arrests occurred on 15 January 2026 at about 8:10 p.m., carried out by a team of policemen and detectives on special security surveillance, acting on credible information regarding the suspects’ nefarious activities.
Earlier, on 12 January 2026, acting on a tip-off, operatives attached to ‘B’ Division Hadejia arrested Usman Isah, 25, from Musari Village, Guri LGA. The suspect was intercepted with a red Kasea motorcycle suspected to have been stolen. He confessed to stealing the motorcycle on 9 January 2026 in Hadejia town. Further investigations linked him to another motorcycle theft on 4 January 2026. The rightful owner of the recovered motorcycle from Kasuwar
Kuda Quarters, Hadejia, has been identified. The suspect will be arraigned in court after completion of the investigation.
Similarly, during a police operation on 11 January 2026 at about 4:30 a.m., a patrol team from Guri Division intercepted a dark blue Golf 3 Wagon (Reg. No. NGN 92XA, Imo State) carrying five occupants and two cows, suspected to be stolen. The suspects—Abdu Dindo, 30; Yakubu Janare, 45; Isah Yahaya, 45; Abdullahi Hassan, 30; and Muhd Dori, 35, all from Jakusku LGA, Yobe State—were transferred to SCID Dutse for discreet investigation. Upon completion, they will be arraigned in court.
On the same day, one Mujahid Rashid of Kano State reported at Yalwawa Division that while returning from Bauchi State at about 9:30 p.m., he was robbed on a tricycle. The perpetrators stole two Sony laptops, two Sony cameras, one GN UK handset, and two sets of clothes. Police detectives traced and arrested a suspect linked to the crime.
Investigations are ongoing to recover the stolen items and apprehend other accomplices.
