Lagos-based Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation has marked its 25th anniversary by distributing food items to 200 beneficiaries in Zamfara State ahead of the 2026 Ramadan.
The gesture, aimed at easing preparations for the holy month, was carried out under the leadership of Ambassador Tudu, who said the foundation remains committed to supporting the less privileged and promoting compassion within society, especially during periods of religious observance.
According to him, the foundation has, over its 25 years of existence, undertaken numerous humanitarian interventions across Nigeria, providing support to orphans, the less privileged and other vulnerable groups.
He added that the organisation would continue to implement initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty and improving the welfare of disadvantaged members of society.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the foundation for the support, offering prayers for divine blessings on the organisers and calling for the sustenance of such humanitarian efforts.
Observers noted that initiatives of this nature help to strengthen unity, compassion and social solidarity within communities, particularly during religious and festive periods such as Ramadan.
