Ignatius Ajuru University of Education

The Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) has confirmed the receipt of ₦809,325,700 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, covering tuition loans for 4,649 students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The disbursement represents the second batch of payments under the scheme, identified as IAUEPHSL11, and is part of the Federal Government’s broader effort to expand access to higher education through structured student financing.

In a statement issued by the Vice-Chancellor, Okechukwu Onuchuku, the university described the intervention as a significant relief for students facing financial constraints.

He said the support had already begun to improve student morale, enabling beneficiaries to focus more fully on their academic work without the burden of tuition-related pressures.

“The support provided by NELFUND is a clear demonstration of commitment to advancing education and empowering the next generation of Nigerian leaders,” the statement noted.

NELFUND, established to provide accessible financing for tertiary education, has been scaling up its disbursement operations across institutions nationwide, with a focus on reducing financial barriers to higher education.

The IAUE disbursement adds to a growing list of beneficiary institutions, as authorities continue to position student loans as a key pillar of Nigeria’s education funding framework.
