The Super Falcons camp is still awaiting the arrival of Monday Gift, Deborah Abiodun and Folashade Ijamilusi to their Casablanca camp as the team continues preparation for the 2026 African Women’s Cup of Nations billed to hold in Morocco from July 25 to August 16, 2026.

The expanded tournament, which features 16 teams divided into four groups, will serve as the qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

According to camp sources, the trio was expected to arrive at the camp yesterday as Coach Madugu continues to plot the strategies he needs to retain the AWCON title.

In camp already are 22 players, with Michelle Alozie, who arrived on Monday night, the latest player to join the squad.

Other players in camp are Skipper Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, Glory Ogbonna, Christy Ucheibe, Sikiratu Isah, Fatima Oloko, Asisat Oshoala, Oluwatosin Demehin, Rofiat Imuran, Shukurat Oladipo, Jennifer Echegini, Rinsola Babajide, Toni Payne, Comfort Erhabor, Francisca Ordega, Chinwendu Ihezuo, Osinachi Ohale, Halimatu Ayinde, Esther Okoronkwo, Uchenna Kanu, Joy Omewa and Michelle Alozie.

The team was supposed to play an international friendly with Ghana last weekend, but the game was shelved due to undisclosed reasons.

Nigeria heads into the competition as the defending champions, aiming to retain the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title and extend their record as the most successful team in the history of the tournament to 11 wins.
