In a major step forward for Abuja’s high-end property market, CityGate Group has awarded the construction contract for its flagship CityGate Towers & Villas project in Asokoro to MetroDec Engineering Company Ltd.

The agreement was signed on September 10, 2026, at CityGate Group’s headquarters in Abuja by its Chairman, High Chief Duru Mike Ejiogu. Located at Plot 220, Cadastral Zone A04, Asokoro, the multi-billion-naira residential development will feature three 12-story towers (Aso Towers), six units of six-bedroom luxury villas, and one exclusive signature villa.

The contract signing ceremony shows how far CityGate Homes has travelled in the highly competitive Abuja property market and Nigeria’s real estate ecosystem.

To ensure delivery meets high structural standards, CityGate selected MetroDec Engineering, a firm bringing over two decades of engineering experience and a track record of more than 100 executed contracts across Nigeria. MetroDec has committed to a timely, high-quality completion.

The partnership places an ambitious developer and an experienced construction company on the same table, with the task of transforming CityGate’s vision for Plot 220 into a physical landmark.

The Asokoro deal marks another key expansion phase for CityGate Group, building on its growing footprint across the Federal Capital Territory, including completed and ongoing developments in Kubuwa, Kaura, Games Village, Katampe Extension, and Life Camp.

The district has long remained one of Abuja’s most sought-after residential locations, and developments within the area carry both commercial and architectural significance.

CityGate Towers & Villas Asokoro, is therefore, being positioned for a market where the expectations go beyond owning a home.

Speaking on the project, public analyst, Njoku MacDonald Obinna, said: “Real estate is not about putting blocks together and calling it development. A serious developer must think about location, infrastructure, value, quality and the people who will eventually live in the community.

“CityGate Homes has gradually moved from individual housing projects to developments of considerable scale. The Asokoro project shows another level of ambition, and the real test will be in the quality and timely delivery of what has been put on paper.”
