The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has mourned the death of its former National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Mahmud Tukur, describing his passing as a great loss to Nigeria.

Tukur, a distinguished statesman, administrator, businessman and elder statesman, served as National Chairman of the PDP from 2012 until his resignation in January 2014.

In a condolence statement signed yesterday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, the PDP said Tukur left behind an enduring legacy of public service and contributions to Nigeria’s political, economic and democratic development.

The party described the late former chairman as a “towering figure” whose career in public service spanned several decades, noting that he brought his wealth of experience and institutional knowledge to the leadership of the party.
