For traders and business owners in Ojodu-Berger, Lagos, the search for a modern, secure and convenient place to work and do business may have just become easier.

This followed the commissioning yesterday of the newly completed 110-unit Goldrim Plaza, Ojodu-Berger, by the Executive Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Council, Hon. Usman Hamzat.

The commissioning attracted business owners, community leaders, government officials and other dignitaries, who gathered to celebrate what the developer described as another milestone in its drive to provide functional commercial spaces.

The ceremony opened with praise songs by minstrels from the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s Praise Team, followed by an exhortation by the Pastor in Charge of Province 27, Region 19, Noruwa Edopkolor.

Drawing from Psalm 148, Edopkolor urged the gathering to embrace praise as a source of strength, describing it as a “secret weapon” and a tool for victory.

In his welcome address, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Goldrim Construction Company, Mr. Gbenga Edeyokun, reflected on the journey that led to the establishment and growth of the company.

Edeyokun acknowledged what he described as God’s guidance throughout his career, noting that he had been involved in several major construction projects, some of which were commissioned by the then Governor of Lagos State and current President, Bola Tinubu.

He said Goldrim’s philosophy was not simply about putting up buildings but creating environments where people could work, trade and interact comfortably.

According to him, the company places a premium on integrity, assuring customers that their investments were safe and that they could commit their resources to its projects with confidence.

“We spend the most hours of the day awake in the office, business organisations or trading places. As a result, we have provided well-finished office and shop units that are of world standard,” he said.

Edeyokun added that each unit comes with private conveniences and showers, while the interior and exterior corridors are well lit.

He also highlighted the spacious car park, CCTV surveillance and human security personnel provided at the plaza.

He said the facility was designed as a one-stop business destination where people from different walks of life could access a range of products and services under one roof.

Among the businesses already operating at the plaza are financial institutions, medical suppliers, boutiques, salons, information technology firms, logistics companies and foodstuff suppliers.

Speaking with journalists after the ceremony, Edeyokun highlighted the company’s shop ownership scheme, which allows customers to acquire units outright while paying in instalments.

He disclosed that Goldrim Construction Company was also expanding into housing development, with its first set of housing projects expected to be unveiled soon in the Grammar School area of Ojodu-Berger.

He assured prospective customers that the company would continue to focus on affordable, durable and quality properties that offer value for their hard-earned money.

The project also attracted goodwill messages from dignitaries, including the member representing Epe Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Tobun Abiodun, and the Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Mr Gbenga Omotoso.

They commended Edeyokun for his persistence, enterprise and contribution to the development of commercial infrastructure.

Speaking at the commissioning, Hamzat described the plaza as a landmark investment that fits into his administration’s vision of transforming Ifako-Ijaiye into a stronger commercial hub within Lagos State.

He commended Goldrim Construction Company and other investors for supporting enterprise development and urged traders and other occupants to make good use of the facility.

Hamzat also called on the occupants to maintain a clean and secure environment around the plaza, stressing that the success of such investments depends not only on the developer but also on the people who use the facilities.

The ceremony ended with the symbolic presentation of keys to entrepreneurs who had secured spaces at the new plaza, located opposite the Lagos State Public Works Corporation in Ojodu-Berger.
