The Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (NATCA) is set to bring together aviation stakeholders and industry professionals to deliberate on strategies to improve air traffic management and strengthen operational efficiency in Nigeria.

The deliberations would form the centrepiece of the association’s 55th Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled to hold in Lagos from November 10 to 11, 2026.

The AGM, with the theme ‘Beyond Silos to Synergy: Shaping the Future of Nigerian Air Traffic Management,’ sought greater collaboration among aviation agencies, industry operators, and other stakeholders to address the challenges confronting Nigeria’s air traffic management system.

As the nation’s airspace becomes increasingly important to economic activities and regional connectivity, effective coordination among aviation institutions remains critical to ensuring flight safety, operational efficiency and the modernisation of air navigation services.

The meeting is expected to provide a platform for air traffic controllers, aviation regulators, industry experts and other stakeholders to examine emerging developments in the sector and explore collaborative approaches to improving air traffic management.

NATCA, an affiliate of the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Associations (IFATCA), plays a key professional role in promoting the interests of air traffic controllers and advancing safety and efficiency in air navigation services.

The event is supported by key industry organisations, including the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and United ATS, as well as other aviation stakeholders committed to promoting flight safety and operational excellence.

The two-day event is also expected to generate discussions on technological advancement and improved professional standards.
