HDI trains 210 monitors to trail projects

Human Development Initiatives (HDI) has trained 210 monitors from Somolu, Mushin and Surulere Local Governments to verify projects to be executed with the N2.08b 2016 Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board/ Universal Basic Education Commission (SUBEB/UBEC) fund.
Executive Director of (HDI, Olufunso Owasanoye who stated this while speaking at a sensitisation workshop for members of School-Based Management Committees (SBMC), Parents’ Forum, Community Development Associations and Committees by HDI with support from the MacArthur Foundation, said community involvement in educational processes is critical to improving the quality of education and environment of learning.
She added that the quality of basic education in Lagos State is a responsibility for all which necessitates the need for building of capacity for more advocacy especially among stakeholders.
Owasanoye argued that the stakeholders must cooperate with the government to offer Nigerian children the best basic education standard.
She therefore said stakeholders must ensure school age children enrol, attend and complete schooling.
