Indigenous oil and gas company Ingentia Energies Limited has appointed seasoned industry professional Victor Agbaroji as its new Managing Director, with a mandate to consolidate the company’s recent gains and drive its next phase of growth and operational excellence.

Agbaroji assumed office on September 1, 2026, following the completion of the six-month tenure of the company’s interim Managing Director, Charles Odita, who steered the organisation from March to August 2026.

The leadership transition was formally unveiled at a ceremony in Lagos, where Odita described his tenure as an exciting and productive period during which Ingentia Energies recorded significant milestones.

In his acceptance remarks, Agbaroji said his immediate priority would be to consolidate and sustain the gains the company had already achieved while strengthening its competitiveness and capacity to create value.

“Our immediate focus is to consolidate and sustain the gains we have made. Ingentia Energies has set the pace among its peers in growing the company since the acquisition of its licence, and we intend to maintain that momentum,” he said.

He identified people, safety, talent development, innovation and cost competitiveness as key priorities under his leadership.

According to him, the company would place the safety and wellbeing of its workforce at the centre of its operations while investing in talent development and adopting innovative approaches to improve efficiency and value creation.

Agbaroji brings more than 31 years of experience across different segments of the oil and gas value chain.

He began his career as a well test engineer, working across several fields before joining Shell as a reservoir engineer. He subsequently held senior responsibilities in operations engineering, corporate petroleum engineering, corporate planning and economics, contributing to portfolio optimisation initiatives that supported the emergence of indigenous marginal field operators.

His experience also includes serving as Front-End Development Manager for major gas projects, including gas supply initiatives linked to fertiliser production.

At the global level, Agbaroji served as Global Operations Manager for Reserves Reporting across the Shell Group, overseeing activities spanning Asia, Europe, Australia and North America.

He later moved into Nigeria’s independent oil sector, bringing international industry practices and experience to indigenous operations.

Before joining Ingentia Energies, he provided technical advisory, risk management and project delivery support services to emerging energy companies.

Industry stakeholders at the leadership transition expressed confidence that his combination of technical, commercial and strategic experience would strengthen Ingentia Energies’ capacity to achieve sustained growth and make a greater contribution to Nigeria’s evolving energy sector.

The appointment marks a new phase for the indigenous operator, with the company expected to build on the progress recorded in recent months while placing greater emphasis on operational efficiency, safety, innovation, talent development and competitiveness.
