Katsina spends N400m on skills acquisition, others

The Katsina state government has spent about N400 million on training and empowerment of over 700 youths across 34 local government areas of the state.

The Katsina state government has spent about N400 million on training and empowerment of over 700 youths across 34 local government areas of the state.

The State governor, Aminu Masari, who disclosed this during a media summit held in the state, stated that the decision was aimed at making youths self-reliant thereby enhancing the socio-economic activities in the state.

Masari said that his administration would continue to promulgate policies that would improve the living conditions of the people and also ensure partnership with private sector in a way to involve local, small and medium-scale businesses in its activities.

He added: “If you illuminate the city, you have solved half of security problems.”

Meanwhile, the governor also officially unveiled the State’s official website, which he believe would help prosper state and attract investors within and outside the state.

In his remarks, Secretary to the State Government, Dr Mustapha Inuwa said like other sectors, the present administration inherited challenging security issues in the state, which has been largely surmounted.
