Young Nigerians demonstrated their passion for innovation, technology and the future of mobility as Toyota Nigeria Limited dedicated the second day of its Toyota Motor Show in Lagos to students and young professionals.

The youth-focused event, held at The Podium in Lekki, featured an engaging debate and quiz competition aimed at stimulating interest in automotive technology, innovation and emerging mobility solutions.

One of the day’s major attractions was a keenly contested debate in which two teams of young participants presented compelling arguments before a panel of judges and an enthusiastic audience. Their confidence, eloquence and critical-thinking skills drew admiration from attendees throughout the session.

At the end of the contest, Team A, made up of Robinson Goodness, Esabu Blessing and Igbayisemore Tony, emerged winners, edging out Team B, comprising Akinware Breakthrough, Yusuf Rahimat and Dawn Ijaware.

The victorious team received a cash prize of N600,000, while the runners-up received N300,000.

The excitement continued during the quiz competition, where six contestants tested their knowledge through several rounds of challenging questions. The contest eventually narrowed to a tense final round centred on Toyota vehicle models and general automotive knowledge.

Feyisetan Emmanuel emerged as the overall winner and received N250,000, while Ayorinde Bolarinwa finished second and received N150,000.

Award-winning actress and social advocate, Kate Henshaw, who chaired the panel of judges, commended the contestants for their outstanding performances, describing their display of intelligence, creativity and confidence as encouraging for the nation’s future.

Also serving on the panel was Henry Ojuoko, Head of Dealer Development and Special Duties at Toyota Nigeria Limited, who said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to encouraging young Nigerians to explore opportunities in technology, innovation and mobility.

The programme also featured popular television personality, actor and brand influencer Somadina Anyama, popularly known as Soma, who participated in interactive sessions alongside Toyota representatives.

Organisers said the second day of the exhibition was intentionally designed for students and young professionals to encourage greater youth participation in conversations around automotive innovation and future mobility trends.

Now in its third edition, the Toyota Motor Show began on June 2 and offers visitors opportunities to explore new vehicle models, enjoy test-drive experiences, participate in interactive discussions and access complimentary vehicle diagnostic services.

Attendees also had the opportunity to test-drive some of Toyota’s popular models, including the Toyota Camry, Toyota RAV4 and Toyota Hilux.

The four-day exhibition will conclude on Saturday with another live recording of Toyota’s PodCARst, featuring social media influencer Ride With Mee, along with entertainment activities, games, prizes, and additional test-drive sessions.
