Atiku, Saraki, South West governors to grace book presentation on Ooni
The former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, and the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, are expected in Lagos next Tuesday at a public book presentation titled, ‘O Ti See See’ (It Is Done).
Holding at the Nigeria Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island. Alhaji Abubakar would chair the event.
Spokesman for the launch committee, Babajide Macauley, said, “governors of the Southwest states, members of the diplomatic corps, top government functionaries, traditional rulers across the country including, corporate Nigeria and civil society groups as well as the media would grace the occasion. While Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, will be the chief host.”
Giving details of the book, Macauley disclosed that it is a compendium of select accolades and goodwill messages in honour and commemoration of the installation of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the 51st Ooni of Ife and Arole Oodua.
“The 324-page book, he noted was written by a research and documentation outfit, Printmarks International. “It is an archival reference material that seeks to promote Yoruba culture, customs and civilization,” he said.
A major highlight of the event is the conferment of honorary awards by the Ooni on some select prominent Yoruba in recognition of their contributions to the progress of the Yoruba race and have distinguished themselves in various fields of human endeavour.
