As Nigerian music continues to gain international audiences, Nigeria-rooted, United Kingdom-based entertainment company, Crystalcity Entertainment, is developing a cross-border platform focused on artist development, live entertainment, touring, event production and digital media.
Founded by Nigerian-born, UK-based artist and producer, Ossy Brown, the independent entertainment company has evolved from an organisation built around Brown’s music career into a broader platform seeking to connect Nigerian and African talent with audiences in the UK and other international markets.
Crystalcity’s roots in Nigeria date back to 2008, while its UK operation represents a newer phase of the company’s international development.
Its stated vision is, “Africa’s stage. The world’s audience.” However, the company’s approach has increasingly been shaped by the practical experience of moving music and live entertainment across borders.
Brown’s experience as an independent artist is central to Crystalcity’s development.
In a 2023 interview with a daily national newspaper, he discussed how his responsibilities have expanded beyond performing and recording into areas traditionally handled by record labels and management companies, including concert organisation, executive production and artist development.
That experience contributed to the development of Crystalcity Entertainment and Crystalcity Records, with the company subsequently working with artists including Lakhid, Juvy Jakes and Mista Charming.
The company’s ambition, however, he said is not intended to remain centred on recorded music or a single artist.
As Brown developed his career in the UK, Crystalcity’s interests in live entertainment and international audiences developed alongside it. One of the clearest expressions of that evolution has been the Love Like Me World Tour.
Built around Brown’s Love Like Me project, the World Tour was conceived with an international vision rather than as a single-market album campaign.
The tour has already crossed two continents, giving Brown and Crystalcity practical experience in producing and promoting live entertainment across different markets.
The project also created opportunities for collaboration, including a special guest appearance by Nigerian singer Reekado Banks at Ossy Brown Live at the Shaw Theatre in London in May 2025. His appearance brought two Nigerian artists together on a UK stage and added another dimension to the tour.
International touring involves considerably more than putting an artist on a stage. It requires coordination across venues, ticketing, marketing, production, musicians, technical teams, travel, accommodation and audience development.
For Brown, the World Tour provided an opportunity to test what an independent Nigerian artist and entertainment company could build internationally.
The use of “World” in the tour’s title reflects an ambition that extends beyond the territories already reached. The objective is to continue taking the project into new markets and use the experience gained from each territory to build towards the next.
In the process, Love Like Me became more than an album campaign. It became part of the development of Crystalcity’s international live-entertainment capabilities.
The important shift for Crystalcity has been the application of infrastructure initially developed around Brown’s own career to projects involving other artists. That distinction marks the company’s evolution from an artist-led structure into a broader entertainment organisation.
Crystalcity’s current activities span artist development, live entertainment, touring, event production, ticketing and entertainment media.
The objective is to create multiple points through which artists can develop audiences, from recorded music and digital content to live performances and international touring. Brown’s own journey provides the foundation for that wider model.
The experience gained through his music career and the Love Like Me World Tour can now be applied to helping other African artists reach audiences beyond their home markets.
The UK is an important part of Crystalcity’s development. Britain has a substantial Nigerian and wider African diaspora, while its cities provide established markets for international music. However, reaching British audiences increasingly means looking beyond London and Crystalcity’s Brymo UK Tour 2026 is one example of that approach.
The tour is scheduled to cover five cities — Glasgow, London, Manchester, Birmingham and Hull — connecting Nigerian artist Brymo with audiences across different parts of the country.
For Crystalcity, the significance lies not only in the artist or individual performances, but also in the company’s ability to develop and deliver a multi-city international touring project.
The tour requires coordination across venues, ticketing, marketing, production, musicians, technical teams, accommodation, transportation and artist logistics.
It also represents a new stage in Crystalcity’s development: the application of experience gained through its founder’s own international touring journey to a project involving another established Nigerian artist.
Touring is just one part of Crystalcity’s wider strategy. The company says it is developing an entertainment ecosystem in which recorded music, artist development, live events, media and audience engagement can operate alongside one another; reflecting the changing nature of the music industry.
An audience may discover an artist through streaming platforms or social media, encounter their work through digital content, attend a live performance and eventually follow the artist across different markets.
For an independent entertainment company, building relationships across those touchpoints can create a more sustainable platform for both artists and audiences.
The Nigeria-UK relationship is particularly important because it allows Crystalcity to operate from an understanding of both markets.
Nigeria provides the company’s cultural and industry foundation, while the UK offers an international base and access to audiences beyond Africa.
The opportunity, therefore, is not simply to export Nigerian music to Britain. It is to create a two-way relationship through which talent, audiences, ideas and entertainment experiences can move between markets.
Crystalcity’s international ambitions do not end with Britain. The Love Like Me World Tour has already demonstrated the company’s willingness to think across continents, while the Brymo UK Tour demonstrates its growing ability to develop multi-city projects around other African artists.
Together, the projects point towards a longer-term model in which Crystalcity can support artists as they move between Nigeria, the UK and other international territories.
The company’s challenge and opportunity will be to continue developing the relationships, operational capabilities and creative partnerships required to make that movement sustainable.
As African music continues to build audiences around the world, the companies behind the artists are becoming increasingly important to how that growth translates into live experiences and lasting international careers.
Crystalcity’s journey reflects that shift: from building around one independent artist to developing a platform for multiple artists and entertainment experiences. Its bridge between Nigeria and the UK is already taking shape.
