From Ondo to Sheffield: How PDam is creating spaces for next generation in music, creative arts

Damilola Oludare, better known as PDam, has a name beyond being tagged a musician; he is an innately creative leader. With a career rooted in performance, songwriting, music direction and creative development, the artist has gone ahead, building a musical journey that now extends beyond his own performances to creating opportunities for young people through the arts.

His latest project, “Signature”, is a youth-focused creative collective designed to bring young people together through music, arts and creative expression. This space will officially launch in Sheffield on September 27, 2026, with its inaugural event tagged “Welcome Home”, marking the beginning of a shared goal, and foresight to build a creative community; also to eventually take the initiative into other cities across the United Kingdom.

Airtel Tenancy

Since emerging as the winner of the Ondo State Talent Hunt in 2012, PDam has continued to develop his musical career across Nigeria, Cyprus and the United Kingdom. His work has taken different forms, from performing and songwriting to directing music and working with musicians and a diverse choir groups. The talent-hunt victory provided an early recognition of his ability and gave him a platform from which to pursue music more seriously. More than a decade later, that early experience has grown into a career defined by both creative longing for expression and also relationship.

His recorded projects include “Farabale the EP,” released in 2017, and never forgetting “Stayed,” which was released in 2023, alongside singles and other musical projects. His musical journey has also taken him across three countries, where he has performed and shared stages with established artists including Ron Kenoly, Sinach, Sola Allyson and Tim Godfrey.

PDam’s experience extends beyond his own music. Between the year 2015 and 2020, he threw fervently his heart to service as the National Music Director of Agape Christian Ministries. This time brought him working closely with different music teams, developing and likewise impacting positively many musicians; not leaving out his directions of major performances, too.

His leadership, musically, later took him away from the shores of the country to another, where he served earnestly as the Music Director of the Cyprus International Christian Fellowship between 2021 & 2023. This experience really changed his view about lots, while his works with musicians widened his exposure to music and creative leadership outside Nigeria. Moving into another country also added a new dimension to his understanding of working with people from different backgrounds. It became another stage of his life and career that has consistently combined music with collaboration and leadership.

Now based in the United Kingdom, PDam serves as Music Director of The Regenerated, a West Yorkshire-based Community Interest Company delivering concerts and performances across the region. As this journey has brought him far, his works with musicians and choirs have made his understanding so broad about the importance of opportunity. Behind every voice is a story and behind every performer is potential, but many young creatives need an environment and specifically, a system which would see, and encourage them.

That understanding is engraved in Signature, which seeks to create such an environment for young people. Beginning in Sheffield, the platform will use music, arts and creative expression to help young people to connect, share ideas and explore their God-given abilities, with the September 27 event serving as its first step. The initiative brings together several aspects of PDam’s experience, particularly his work in music, leadership and developing people.

From the young musician who entered a talent hunt in Ondo State in 2012 to the creative leader preparing to build a platform for young people in Sheffield in 2026, PDam’s journey has continued to expand the meaning of music in his life. The locations may have changed, obviously, but the importance of opportunity has remained a recurring part of the journey. His story reflects how an artist can move from seeking a space for personal expression to creating platforms through which others can express themselves.
