NEMCEA 2026 to empower Nigeria’s creative economy

The Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) has officially announced the fifth edition of the Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA 2026). NEMCEA, Nigeria foremost International Media event is a three in one activation with focus on Conference, Content Exhibition and Industry Awards Nite.

Scheduled to hold on September 2 and 3 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, this milestone edition will tackle the financial sustainability of the creative sector under the central theme, ‘The Creator’s Economy – Elevate Your Craft, Secure Your Future’.

As the digital landscape evolves, the need to bridge the gap between creative passion and commercial viability has become paramount. This year’s theme is specifically designed to equip content creators, producers, and media executives with the tools required to monetise their craft effectively.

Listed and expected to speak at different forum at NEMCEA 2026 including the Director General’s Roundtable are Director General, National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Mr. Charles Ebuebu; Director General, Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo; Director General, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr. Lanre Isaac Onilu; Director General, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Comrade Salihu Abdullahi Dembos; Director-General, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Dr. Mohammed Bulama; Managing Director, Nigeria Communication Satellite Ltd. (NIGCOMSAT), Mrs. Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen; Director-General, Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mr. Jibrin Baba Ndace; Director-General, Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), Dr. John O. Asein and others.

Also, joining the discourse as a speaker is the Group Executive Director at Omnicom Media Group (Mediareach OMD), Mr. Yinka Adebayo, who will bring his wealth of experience in media buying, brand building, and advertising dynamics to the fore.

Highlighting the economic significance of the event, President of EMCOAN, Mr. Adeniji Omirin, stated, “The creative industry is no longer just a hobby; it is a critical driver of Nigeria’s GDP. At NEMCEA 2026, our focus is to shift the narrative from mere content creation to sustainable wealth creation. We want our creators to not only elevate their artistic output but to robustly secure their financial future in an unpredictable market.”
