All is set for the final forfeiture judgment in the case involving suspects arrested in connection with a multi-million-dollar Nigerian-Mexican methamphetamine production laboratory hidden in a remote forest in the Ijebu area of Ogun State.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Wednesday took journalists to the site of the clandestine laboratory ahead of the court’s final forfeiture proceedings.

During the operation that led to the discovery of the facility, NDLEA operatives stormed the laboratory located deep inside the Ijebu forest, secured the perimeter and caught members of the drug syndicate completely off guard.

Seven key members of the cartel were arrested while allegedly processing methamphetamine at the facility.

Those arrested include three Mexican nationals, who were allegedly brought into Nigeria to manufacture the illicit drug, and four Nigerian collaborators. The suspects are expected in court for the final forfeiture judgment in the case.
