Ogogo laid to rest in Ilaro as Nollywood bids veteran actor farewell

Tears flowed freely as late Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as ‘Ogogo’, was laid to rest in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun, on Monday

As expected, family, friends, and colleagues from the Yoruba film industry gathered to bid the veteran actor a final farewell.

Among those present were Jide Kosoko and Yinka Quadri, two of Ogogo’s closest associates, as well as Fathia Balogun, Fausat Balogun, and Toyosi Adesanya.

The atmosphere was sombre, with tears flowing as Ogogo was laid to rest according to Islamic rites. His former colleagues also rendered emotional chants in tribute to the departed Nollywood legend.

Ogogo, died on Sunday at the age of 66 after battling cancer.

His daughter, Kira Taiwo, confirmed his death during a live video, where she broke down in tears and repeatedly said, “My daddy is dead.”
