PFIPC Saga: Adeniyi Adeyemi flown to Abuja in private jet

Adeniyi Adeyemi

The Director-General of the Presidential Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi, was on Thursday spotted boarding a private jet to Abuja.

Dressed in a blue native attire, Adeyemi was seen surrounded by plain-clothes security operatives and walked freely among the officers

The Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday arrested Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-styled Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, following a bench warrant issued by a Federal High Court in Abuja, after he failed to appear for his arraignment on an eight-count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.

Justice Mohammed Umar ordered Adeyemi’s arrest after granting an oral application by the prosecution, led by Wisdom Madaki, following the defendant’s absence when the case was called.

It would be recalled that Gbajabiamila, On July 7, threatened a N10 billion defamation suit against Adeyemi over allegations of murder and bribery.

In a letter signed by Kemi Pinheiro, Gbajabiamila’s counsel, Adeyemi was asked to take down all videos in which he made the allegations against the chief of staff.

Adeyemi was also asked to publish a full retraction and apology in at least five national newspapers and across all social media platforms on which a press conference he conveyed on June 26 was circulated.

Adeyemi had alleged that Gbajabiamila collected N400 million bribe through a proxy for the appointment letter into the fictitious agency, which the presidency has since disowned.

Adeyemi also linked Gbajabiamila to attempts to deploy security agencies against him and to the death of one Babatunde Tanimola, whom he described as an intermediary between himself and the chief of staff.
