US President Donald Trump has disclosed that security officials secretly moved him from Air Force One to a smaller aircraft during his return from Turkey, following concerns over a possible threat linked to Iran.

Trump said he was informed of the security situation but did not press officials for details, choosing instead to follow the instructions of the US Secret Service.

The unusual security operation reportedly involved transferring Trump to a C-32A aircraft while efforts were made to maintain the impression that he remained aboard Air Force One. Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth was also seen boarding the smaller plane, further reinforcing the deception.

Trump, however, suggested that the security measure may have created an unexpected vulnerability, arguing that an attacker could have been more likely to target the smaller aircraft once its location became known.

The reported switch came amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran and renewed concerns over threats against Trump. US officials have maintained that deception and misdirection are among the measures routinely used to protect the president.

Despite the extraordinary precautions, Trump said he remains largely unfazed by threats to his life, insisting that security concerns do not dictate how he conducts his movements.
