Ecobank Nigeria holds forum, pledges more support for trade

Ecobank Nigeria has concluded its customer forum for exporters and importers targeted at boosting trade and commerce in the country, with pledge to do more in trade financing.

Ecobank Nigeria has concluded its customer forum for exporters and importers targeted at boosting trade and commerce in the country, with pledge to do more in trade financing.

The Country Head, Commercial Banking, Ecobank Nigeria, Rotimi Morohunfola, who said the forum is one of the several avenues the bank supports promoters and stakeholders in export and import business, noted that the economy is driven largely by trade.

“We take into cognisance the role of exporters and importers in the economy. The economy is largely driven by trade and this is why we decided to hold this forum and also bring in the regulators to build capacity on trends and market practices,” he said.

The Deputy Director, Trade and Exchange Department, CBN, Olu Vincent, at the event, applauded Ecobank for holding the forum and enlightened participants on various measures to achieve seamless transactions.

Speaking on the support for small businesses, the Head, SME, Commercial Banking, Ecobank Nigeria, Sunkanmi Olowo, said the lender had put in place several initiatives to promote small businesses.
