Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has announced the commencement of registration for its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry admission screening exercise.
The institution, in an advertorial signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Dr Chinonye A. Ajie, invited candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and scored 150 and above, including those who did not initially select the university as their first choice but are willing to seek admission into the institution.
The university also opened registration for Direct Entry candidates possessing qualifications such as First Degree, Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), Higher National Diploma (HND), Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB), Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB), and Cambridge A-Level certificates.
According to the institution, applicants must possess at least five credit passes in relevant O’level subjects, including English Language and other subjects related to their intended course of study. Candidates awaiting results were also encouraged to apply.
The university disclosed that the online registration portal will open on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. and close on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., while the registration fee has been fixed at ₦2,000.
Candidates are required to complete the registration process through the university’s official website.
Once on the IAUE Official Website, the institution advised candidates to access the “Undergraduate Studies” section under the admission menu and proceed to the “2026/2027 UTME/DE Screening Registration Portal” to begin the application.
First-choice candidates are expected to confirm their details using their JAMB registration numbers, provide valid phone numbers and email addresses, and complete payment through the Paystack platform before updating their personal data and printing their registration slips.
Candidates who changed their institution to IAUE are also expected to complete a separate registration form through the portal before proceeding with payment and profile updates.
The university emphasised that candidates using awaiting results during JAMB registration must upload their O’level results both on the JAMB portal and the university portal.
IAUE further disclosed that the 2026/2027 screening exercise would be conducted in a hybrid format, including O’level and A’level certificate verification, data screening, ranking and compulsory biometric validation at the university’s main campus in Rumuolumeni, Rivers State.
The institution said details regarding screening dates and venues would be announced later.
It warned candidates and parents against paying money for admission slots, stressing that admission into the university remains free.
“Any candidate who is asked to pay money for admission slot should immediately report the incident to the appropriate authorities,” the institution stated.
The university also prohibited parents, guardians and unauthorised individuals from entering screening centres during the exercise and urged candidates to disregard misleading information circulating on social media.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR 2026/2027 POST UTME AND DIRECT-ENTRY REGISTRATION EXERCISE
Ignatius Ajuru University of Education hereby invites all UTME and Direct Entry (DE) candidates for the 2026/2027 admission exercise. Candidates who sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored 150 and above including those that did not choose the institution and are willing to seek admission with Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, and Direct Entry Candidates to commence registration using the registration link on the portal as contained in the advertisement. Candidates must present five (5) credit passes in their O’level results, with the appropriate subject combination relevant to their chosen course of study. This must also align with the required UTME subject combinations. Candidates with awaiting results may also apply. For Direct Entry (DE) applications, the following qualifications are acceptable:
- First Degree
- NCE (Nigeria Certificate in Education)
- HND (Higher National Diploma)
- JUPEB (Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board)
- IJMB (Interim Joint Matriculation Board)
- Cambridge A-Level
The registration portal will open on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 12am and close on Sunday, 14 June 2026, at 11:59pm. The registration fee is N2,000.00 only.

Procedure for Online Registration:
- Visit the University Website iaue.edu.ng.
- On ADMISSION Menu, click on “Undergraduate Studies”
- Click on “2026/2027 UTME/DE Screening Registration Portal.
- On the page that appears, click on “Register for 2026/2027 Session UTME/DE Screening”.
- A page appears; enter your JAMB Reg. No. and Click Register.
- If you are a FIRST-CHOICE candidate:
- Your details will appear.
- Click on Confirm to confirm your details.
- Enter your correct phone number and Email & click on submit.
- An Email containing your login details will be sent to you via your registered email address. Please ensure you use a valid e-mail address during registration.
- If you have forgotten your password or unable to note it from the registration screen, kindly login to your email address or initiate password reset for your login details to be resent to your email.
- Candidates who Changed Institution to IAUE should do the following:
- Click on UTME Registration button, a form will appear.
- Fill in the form completely and click on submit.
- An E-mail containing your login details will be sent to you via your registered email address. Please ensure you use a valid email address during registration.
- If you have forgotten your password or unable to note it from the registration screen, kindly login to your email address or initiate password reset for your login details to be resent to your email.
NB: Candidates who use awaiting results during JAMB registration should remember to upload their O’level on JAMB portal and do the same on the University portal.
- Click on Login and enter your username and password sent to your email/phone.
- You will be prompted to change your password. Save your new password.
- From the menu on the left, click on Pay Screening Fees.
- Click on Pay for UTME Registration button and then click on Generate invoice below.
- Confirm your invoice and click on Proceed to Pay
- You will be redirected to Paystack payment platform, enter your card details and make your payment conveniently. For security purposes, your card details are NOT stored on our secured portal.
- After successful payment, click on ‘Update Personal Data’ menu on the left, UPDATE ALL FIELDS on your registration form and submit.
- Print your Registration Slip and log out.
- Save your login details. Your username and your password are your personal credentials to access your profile in the University portal.
NB: Please ensure error-free and seamless registration. The University is engaging in data verification of its candidates. All data provided during registration will be validated on JAMB CAPS.
Please note that registration is online, and candidates are advised to register from any location.
THE SCREENING EXERCISE
The 2026/2027 Screening Exercise will be in Hybrid Mode. Candidates will be invited to the University main campus, Rumuolumeni for O’level/A’level certificate verification, Data Screening, Ranking and Compulsory Biometric validation Exercise. Further details and modalities (date and venue) of the screening will be announced in due course.
