NBTE accredits 10 programmes for RECTEM

Redeemer’s College of Technology and Management (RECTEM) has received accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for 10 academic programmes.

The development strengthens the institution’s drive to position itself as a hub for practical and industry-relevant technical education.

The accreditation covers programmes across Built Environment Technology, Management and Sciences.

The approved programmes are Architectural Technology; Estate Management and Valuation; Quantity Surveying; Accountancy; Business Administration; Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing; and Science Laboratory Technology.

Business Administration was accredited at both the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels.

Science Laboratory Technology was accredited with three options: Biology, Microbiology and Environmental Technology.

Officials of the institution said the approval represents a major boost to RECTEM’s academic development and its objective to produce graduates with technical competencies aligned with the demands of a rapidly changing economy.

Reacting to the development, the Rector Dr Oladunni Izobo-Martins, described the accreditation as “a major milestone and a testament to the grace of God, dedication, hard work and collective commitment of the college community.”

Izobo-Martins said the institution would not rest on the achievement, but would continue to pursue academic excellence, innovation and continuous improvement across its departments.

She added that RECTEM remained committed to producing technically proficient graduates capable of contributing meaningfully to national development and competing in the global economy,

The NBTE accreditation qualifies RECTEM to admit students into the newly approved programmes and run full academic activities, in line with national standards for polytechnic education in Nigeria.
