Auto Queen Adesuwa Ogiozee reclaims belongings as FBI complies with court order

Adesuwa Ogiozee, a US-based auto dealer known as the “Auto Queen,” has finally received some relief as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) returned her international passports and other belongings. This follows a court order issued by Hon Martha Vasquez of the United States District Court of New Mexico. Ogiozee had been entangled in a prolonged dispute with the FBI over a romance scam linked to one of her customers.

The trauma, which lasted for years had negatively impacted her reputation. It took the intervention of her family and associates to help prove her innocence.

After months of legal fireworks, Ogiozee successfully proved her innocence with striking out the case by Hon Martha Vasquez, and the order that FBI should let Ogiozee go.

However, in a dramatic turn of events, the FBI refused to obey the court’s pronouncement by holding on to Ogiozee’s belongings including her three passports, which were seized in connection with the alleged criminal charges.

Fighting back, Ogiozee’s attorney and her team challenged the FBI before the court again to enforce its earlier order. After intense legal tango, FBI finally bowed to pressure and released Ogiozee’s belongings a few weeks ago. At last, Ogiozee has been cleared of all criminal charges and her triumph is seen as a big win for Nigeria. Without question, Ogiozee’s innocence has Nigeria’s global reputation from further battering.

Recall that Adesuwa Ogiozee was wrongly accused of fraud by the FBI when one of her customers unknown to her used proceeds from a scam activity to purchase a car from Ogiozee’s auto shop known as Renee Auto 10 years ago.

In a bid to protect her reputation, Ogiozee spent a lot of money to hire lawyers both in Nigeria and United States and at last the team helped her regain her freedom.

Ogiozee’s efforts finally paid off when culprit was apprehended to face the consequences of his action. She had spent a fortune hiring investigators, which allowed the case to be blown open with the culprit arrested and the case finally dismissed with prejudice.

The case was dismissed without any conditions by the Hon Judge after her orders were flouted for seven months by the security agency.

However, Ogiozee and her attorney’s consistent efforts finally paid off when her properties were returned to her as she awaits her Mercedes Benz. Her popular saying, “always keep your hands clean in all you do” comes to mind as it remains a rare case with the dismissal of her Federal case in the United States. Although, she is presently counting her loses and repositioning her business after going through a traumatising years of humiliation, coming out free as a bird is a consolation keeping her going.
