Carloha Nigeria, the official franchise holder, assembler and authorised distributor of Chery vehicles in Nigeria, has announced the nationwide availability of the Chery Q, as the company expands its electric vehicle offering in the Nigerian market.
The compact electric vehicle combines a 420-kilometre estimated NEDC range, fast-charging capability, intelligent driver-assistance systems and connected technology, while targeting young professionals, families, first-time EV buyers and urban motorists.

The Chery Q also draws on the heritage of Chery’s QQ family, with the company describing the new model as a modern interpretation of the nameplate under its global “Quest for Joy” philosophy.
In terms of design, the vehicle features geometric styling, rounded LED lighting and a two-tone interior. Its design has received the Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award.
Despite its compact dimensions, the Chery Q measures 4,195mm in length with a 2,700mm wheelbase. Carloha said the vehicle offers an 85 per cent space-efficiency ratio, while luggage capacity can increase from 375 litres to 1,450 litres.

The vehicle also provides a 70-litre front trunk and 38 storage compartments, features aimed at improving practicality for urban commuting, shopping and family use.
Electric performance
The Chery Q uses a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive platform with independent suspension and balanced weight distribution.

Its electric power steering and One-Box Brake-by-Wire system are designed to improve steering response, braking performance and energy recovery.
Carloha said the vehicle has an estimated 420km NEDC driving range, while its fast-charging system can recharge the battery from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in about 16.5 minutes.
The EV also comes with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling users to power compatible electrical equipment and outdoor devices from the vehicle.
Inside the cabin, a 15.6-inch high-definition touchscreen, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, serves as the central interface.

The vehicle supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, intelligent voice control, 50W wireless smartphone charging, smartphone integration, and remote vehicle management through a mobile application.
Safety and driver assistance
Safety technology is another major feature of the Chery Q, with the vehicle equipped with a Level 2 intelligent driver-assistance system comprising more than 20 functions.
These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Intelligent High Beam Control.

The vehicle also features a 540-degree panoramic camera and Automated Parking Assist, providing additional assistance during manoeuvring, parking and urban driving.
Beyond the vehicle’s technology, Carloha is positioning its aftersales package as part of its EV ownership proposition.
Under its CarlohaCare 6-6-7 programme, Chery Q customers receive a six-year warranty, six years of free scheduled servicing up to 120,000 kilometres and a seven-day repair promise.

Under the repair commitment, Carloha said it would repair a vehicle within seven days or provide a courtesy vehicle where the repair extends beyond the stipulated period.
The company has also introduced CarlohaCare 6-6-7 Rescue, which includes roadside assistance and a 24-hour assistance line for Chery owners, with limited access available to non-Chery motorists.
Commenting on the arrival of the model, Felix Mahan, General Manager, Marketing, Carloha Nigeria, said the Chery Q marked the fulfilment of the company’s commitment to introduce another Chery electric vehicle to Nigeria.
“The Chery Q brings together award-winning design, intelligent technology, practical space, advanced safety, impressive electric range and fast charging,” Mahan said.

He added that the company’s focus extended beyond vehicle sales, with aftersales support intended to give customers greater confidence in EV ownership.
The Chery Q is now available at Carloha showrooms nationwide, adding another option to Nigeria’s growing electric vehicle market.
