Carloha Nigeria, the official franchise holder and assembler of Chery vehicles in the country, has introduced the Chery Q, a compact electric hatchback that targets young motorists.
The new model is positioned as an affordable electric mobility option for urban motorists, combining compact dimensions with advanced technology, safety features and a claimed drive range of up to 400 kilometres under the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).
The Chery Q represents a modern interpretation of Chery International’s iconic QQ family, developed around the global theme, “Quest for Joy.”
The company said the model targets young professionals, families, and urban motorists seeking cleaner, more connected transportation.
Commenting on the launch, General Manager, Marketing, Carloha Nigeria, Felix Mahan, said the vehicle also offers 375 litres of luggage capacity, expandable to 1,450 litres, plus a 70-litre front trunk and 38 storage compartments, making it suitable for commuting, shopping and family use.
Mahan said that Chery Q is built on a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive platform with independent suspension and balanced weight distribution.
The vehicle also features Electric Power Steering and One-Box Brake-by-Wire technology, which the company said improves braking response, smoothness and energy recovery.
Mahan added that the introduction of the Chery Q fulfilled the company’s earlier promise to bring another Chery electric vehicle into the Nigerian market.
He said the model’s arrival demonstrated Carloha’s commitment to expanding access to smart and sustainable mobility solutions in Nigeria.
He added that the launch marked another milestone in Carloha’s efforts to provide world-class mobility solutions and support the country’s gradual transition towards cleaner transportation.
