FG, AfDB execute agric projects worth N7b in Jigawa

The Federal Government, in collaboration with African Development Bank (AfDB), has executed agro-allied projects, including a network of roads, worth N17.7 billion in five local government areas in Jigawa State.

Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, representing Jigawa North East, made this known while inspecting some projects in Auyo and Kafin Hausa Local Government areas, which fall within his constituency.
 


He said the projects are under the agricultural transformation agenda support program of the Federal Government, commending Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar for the support and cooperation towards the successful conduct of the program.

In his speech, the Zonal Programme Coordinator, ATASP Kano/Jigawa, Auwal Ado Shehu, commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for releasing the state’s counterpart funding and the senator for ensuring the projects.

He said the projects reached 50 per cent completion of 41.5-kilometre feeder road from Hadejia Jamaare, Ansaye, Galauchi, Miga, Auyo, Zabarau, Gudito to Maskangayu for transporting food items.
 
He commended Senator Hassan for his efforts towards increasing the tenure of the programme to two years.

The council chairman of Auyo Local Government, Alhaji Muhammad Ahmed Sani, commended both federal and state governments as well as the senator for securing the projects for the benefit of farmers in the area.
