In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at equipping Nigerians with essential skills to navigate the complexities of Employment-Based (EB) Green Card applications for the United States (U.S.), an Australia-based consultancy firm, Jumade Consulting Limited, has organised a comprehensive one-day training focused on the EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) visa category.

The training, which took place at the LCCI Conference Exhibition Centre in Lagos, over the weekend, attracted professionals from various sectors seeking to enhance their understanding of U.S. immigration processes and discover potential avenues for additional income.
In an interview with The Guardian, the Convener, Oluwatoyin Olajumoke, said that the initiative was driven by the economic difficulties many Nigerians face when attempting to migrate legally through EB visa routes.
Olajumoke noted that the EB-2 NIW visa category offers a lifeline for qualified individuals who aspire to permanently reside in America, with the possibility of applying for citizenship after 10 years.
She said that eligible applicants must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree and five years of working experience in fields of national importance to the country.
Olajumoke, while sharing her journey of obtaining the EB-2 NIW visa, recalled that her application was approved within seven days, propelling her career advancement in the U.S.
She, however, expressed her commitment to continue empowering more Nigerians through future workshops, particularly as current participants begin to implement their newly acquired skills.
She also emphasised the importance of following legal migration pathways and urged Nigerians to avoid illegal immigration tactics, such as sham marriages or perilous routes.
