Farmers affected by the 2020 flood in Ebonyi State got farm inputs one year after the disaster through the intervention of the Food Security Council for the implementation of the Emergency Agriculture Intervention Fund.

Distributing the inputs to farmers from three local government areas in Abakaliki, the Zonal Coordinator, Southeast, of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Major Eze, said it was the first of its kind in Ebonyi, charging the farmers to properly make use of the inputs for productivity.

The three local government areas were Ebonyi, Isehelu and Ohaukwu Local Government areas.

He noted that the Federal Government, through the Food Security Council, had been assisting farmers whose farms had been affected by natural disasters to restore their tools and means of production.
