Emefiele, Lamido, others to speak on Islamic finance in Nigeria
Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele, His Highness Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and Co-founder of GTBank, Mr. Fola Adeola, will lead other eminent personalities to the fifth National Discourse organised by The Companion, an association of Muslim men in business and the professions).
The guest speaker, Prof. AbdurRazzaq Abdul Majeed Alaro of University of Ilorin will speak on the theme: Islamic Finance Experiment in Nigeria: Gains, Challenges and Prospects.
The event will hold on Sunday at J.F Ade-Ajayi (Main auditorium), University of Lagos, Akoka. Head of Media Committee, Bello Ozugha, said the topic would ascertain the benefits and challenges facing the growth of Islamic banking in the country.
According to him, Islamic finance has become a significant source of finance in Nigeria. Participants, Ozugha said, would benefit from free medical check-up on hepatitis, eye screening and free eyeglasses for those required.
