Hundreds of residents of Egbeda, Lagos, benefited from a free medical outreach organised by the Hanifar Dynamic Foundation in partnership with the Lagos Egbeda Lions Club, as both organisations intensified efforts to improve access to quality healthcare in underserved communities.

The outreach offered free medical consultations, basic health screenings, health education and other essential healthcare services aimed at promoting early disease detection, preventive care and healthy living.

Speaking during the outreach, Chairman of the Hanifar Dynamic Foundation, Mr. Caleb Onyeabor, described the programme as part of the foundation’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities through impactful humanitarian interventions.

The initiative attracted a large turnout of residents, many of whom expressed appreciation for the opportunity to receive professional medical attention at no cost.

Onyeabor said: “Healthcare remains one of the most fundamental needs of every society. At Hanifar Dynamic Foundation, we believe that no one should be denied access to basic healthcare because of financial limitations.

“This outreach reflects our vision of reaching vulnerable communities with practical interventions that improve lives. We are delighted to partner with the Lagos Egbeda Lions Club, whose dedication to humanitarian service aligns perfectly with our mission.”

Onyeabor added that the foundation would continue to develop partnerships with organizations and individuals committed to making a meaningful social impact across Nigeria.

Also speaking, the President Lagos Egbeda Lions Club, Lioness Mrs. Abiodun Adijat Adigun, emphasized that community development goes beyond infrastructure and includes investing in the health and well-being of the people.

Adigun said: “A healthy community is the foundation of sustainable development. Beyond providing medical services today, we have encouraged residents to embrace preventive healthcare, regular medical check-ups, and healthy lifestyles. We remain committed to implementing programmes that uplift lives and restore hope, especially among vulnerable members of society.”

She commended the medical professionals, volunteers, and members of the Lagos Egbeda Lions Club for their dedication and selfless service throughout the outreach, noting that their collective efforts contributed significantly to the programme’s success.

Officials of the Lagos Egbeda Lions Club also reaffirmed the club’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian service and community development, expressing appreciation to Hanifar Dynamic Foundation for the successful collaboration.

They noted that partnerships between service organizations and charitable foundations remain essential for expanding access to healthcare and addressing pressing community needs.

Beneficiaries of the outreach applauded both organisations for bringing quality healthcare services directly to their community, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.

Many residents called for similar programmes to be organised regularly to improve healthcare access for underserved populations.

The organisers said the outreach underscores the growing role of strategic partnerships between non-governmental organizations and service clubs in complementing public healthcare efforts and advancing community welfare across Nigeria.
