President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the family of the late publisher of Leadership Newspaper, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, on the death of their matriarch, Mrs. Eunice Ndanusa Isaiah.

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, represented President Buhari when he paid condolence visit to the family in Abuja recently. He was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Dr. Adaora Ifeoma Anyauwutaku.

According to Mohammed, “On behalf of Mr. President and the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I have come here to condole with the family. There is no way we can come here to condole with this family without remembering our late brother, Sam Nda-Isaiah, and I think it’s worthy of note that Mr. President deemed it fit to send this delegation to condole with you on the passing onto glory of the matriarch of the family. We can only offer you prayers and condolence, believing that the good work of mama and the good work of our brother will continue to propel the family to greatness and greater harmony.”

He said it was painful that Mr. Nda-Isaiah’s death preceded that of his mother, but observed that the patriotism he exuded in his lifetime was a reflection of the character trait of his mother.

He added that due to the relationship between the President and the Nda-Isaiah family, the late publisher was keenly passionate about the success of the Buhari Administration.

Mohammed expressed confidence that neither the death of Mr. Nda-Isaiah nor that of his mother would sever the ties between President Buhari and the Nda-Isaiah Family.

Responding on behalf of the family, an in-law to the deceased, Dr. Tunde Owoyele, expressed appreciation to the President for sending a delegation to condole with the family on the death of Mrs. Ndanusa Isaiah.

The Minister and his delegation were received on the condolence visit by the Chairperson of the Leadership Group, Mrs. Zainab Sam Nda-Isaiah.
