Mosque holds award presentation, turbanning

Oke Ira Nla central Mosque, Ajah is set to hold turbanning, award presentation and silver jubilee anniversary on Sunday 16th February 2020.

The program holds at Space Mazi Ibeh Street, Akins Bus Stop Okeira Nla, Ajah at exactly 10am.

In a statement released by the Chief Imam of Okeira Nla central Mosque, Alhaji Abdulateef Folorunsho Balogun said the event is expected to recognise individuals who have contributed to the mosque and propagation of Islam.

He noted that the central mosque foundation stone was laid in February 1996 and the edifice was completed, commissioned in 17th September 2011.

“A million miles started with a step, it is historical to mention that the first Jumat service was observed under Bamboo tree in February 1995, members were less than twelve in attendance”.

Expected special guest at the occasion includes Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Commissioner Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile Yusuf.

The royal fathers of the day are HRM Oba Adetunji Akinloye (Sataru II, Ojomu of Ajiran Land), HRM Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi (Kushenla III Elegushi of Ikate Land) Among others Royal Host is Chief Bashiru Kolawole Lasisi (Baale Okeira Nla)
