Up-and-coming gospel artiste, Olabimpe Alabi, has said her music goes beyond entertaining people, stressing that it is fired by strong desire to serve God and cause the world to continually praise Him.

“My band, Bimpe Alabi and the Minstrels (BAM), is known with the stage name Judah, which means ‘Praise’. We seek to spur people to understand the reason and need for constant praise to God,” she explained.
The gospel singer, who is an accounting graduate of Lagos State Polytechnic, dropped her first Album CD recently. It is a six-tracker titled Judah Volume 1.
It opens with Highest Praise, a mid-tempo dance music; followed by ‘Hallelujah,’ a blend of Calypso with South African rhythmic pattern; then ‘E yo,’ a mid-tempo, gracefully-style highlife gospel music highlighting horns and guitar; Next is ‘You are Good’, a mid-tempo calypso style with horns arrangements and percussive embellishment.
She drives her message home with ‘I love you Jesus’, a funky beat with horns arrangements; and ‘Knowing You’, a slow-tempo, soft and soul music.

On her foray into music, she said, “My music life started when I joined Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral Choir at the age of 11.
“For me, it was basically a desire to serve God with all my heart, ministering to others as well as myself in spiritual songs. It is all about Jesus and, in fact, He gives me the inspiration.”
No doubt, the album resonates with good and quality songs. But Bimpe says her biggest desire is get promoters to push her album to four corners of the world to make the desired impact.

According to her, she performed at the recent 24 hours of praise organised by AVMCC and also ministered at birthdays and wedding ceremonies and the songs were received.
She, however, stressed the need for good promoters to support her efforts.
