Bimpe Alabi spreads hope with Judah
Fast-rising Christian gospel singer, Olabimpe Alabi, has stepped out with a very inspiring body of work dubbed, Judah Vol 1. For the gospel chanteuse, the album propels her career’s mission of using her music to continually praise God.
“My band, Bimpe Alabi and the Minstrels (BAM), is known with the stage name Judah, which means ‘Praise’. We seek to spur people to understand the reason and need for constant praise to God,” she explained.
The record opens with a mid-tempo dance music dubbed, Highest Praise; followed by Hallelujah, a blend of Calypso with South African rhythmic pattern; then ‘E yo,’ a mid-tempo, gracefully-style highlife gospel music highlighting horns and guitar; The record crescendoes with You are Good, a mid-tempo calypso style with horns arrangements and percussive embellishment.
On her foray into music, she said, “My music life started when I joined Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral Choir at the age of 11. “For me, it was basically a desire to serve God with all my heart, ministering to others as well as myself in spiritual songs. It is all about Jesus and, in fact, He gives me inspiration.”
No doubt, the album resonates with good and quality songs. But Bimpe says her biggest desire is to get promoters to push her album to four corners of the world to make the desired impact.
