Quality laboratory service, health facility gets ISO certification

A primary healthcare facility located in Kano, EHA Clinics, has been awarded the ISO certification by the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS).

The clinic was awarded ISO 15189/2012 (Medical Laboratory Testing Haematology) for its ability to meet the extensive criteria of the standard designed to improve the quality and reliability of its medical laboratories.

The award was a demonstration of the fact that EHA Clinics has demonstrated its commitment to technical competency and the operation of a quality management system of the highest standards.

ISO 15189:2012 is a globally recognized quality standard for a medical laboratory in developing quality management systems and assessing competence. It guides companies in developing a quality management system that aligns quality with their global business strategy.

The Chief Executive Officer, EHA Clinics, Adam Thompson, stated that the prestigious accreditation supported the facility’s core values of quality and patient-centered care.

“Our patients are assured of our commitment to progressive quality improvement. These are exciting times for us as EHA Clinics Kano was recently recognized as the first primary healthcare clinic in Sub-Saharan Africa to be accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) for ambulatory care.
