The Mentor Matchup Challenge is an initiative of 234finance.com, poised to bridge the practical knowledge gap between successful entrepreneurs and the younger generation of entrepreneurs. As more young people venture into entrepreneurship, it is critical to embed sustainable mentorship programs into entrepreneurship programs.

The Mentor Matchup Challenge is a platform to network, collaborate and build new business relationships with key stakeholders across six (6) strategic sectors of the economy including Agriculture, E-commerce & Retail, Food & Hospitality, Financial Services, Logistics and Manufacturing.

This year’s edition of the annual event will be taking place at The Lagos Oriental Hotel on the 2nd of December 2019.
The event features panel discussions, intimate mentoring sessions and multiple networking opportunities, which allow entrepreneurs in attendance to discuss niggling business challenges with mentors who are thought leaders in their respective industries.

Ten selected teams also get a chance to pitch their businesses to investors in attendance and win seed funding of up to $20,000.
This year’s Mentor Matchup Challenge 3.0 event tackles 6 of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations including Goal 1 – No Poverty, Goal 2 – Zero Hunger, Goal 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, Goal 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Goal 10 – Reduced Inequality and Goal 17 – Partnerships to achieve the Goal.

The objectives of The Mentor Matchup Challenge include:
Equipping young entrepreneurs with presentation skills
Aiding critical thinking skills as well as the business focus
Giving upcoming entrepreneurs insights on how to run their startups
Creating networking opportunities for entrepreneurs in attendance
Preparing entrepreneurs for important conversations that could transform their businesses
