YABATECH opens campus radio

In a statement obtained by The Guardian, Yabatech radio will serve the modern necessity of keeping the people informed; concentrate on getting into the minds of listeners and nurture it with timely information on development in all subjects of importance and general interest.

“The radio station has been long in the making but it eventually became a reality on September 16, 2019, after going through the mandatory test transmission as specified in the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) guideline.

“The NBC has scheduled two visits to the station, the first visit has come and gone, with the radio station getting a pass mark and the second visit will be a consolidation on the initial one, which will give the station a full fledge broadcasting right without any restriction.”

It added that the signal of 89.3fm is very strong and clear to the extent that it gets to almost every part in Lagos. “The listeners in Lagos state have made several calls to the station to affirm this.”

The statement further said that the station will also serve as a training platform for mass communication students in the area of the practical aspect of radio journalism.

“The programme of the station will be designed to suit the educated youth and public without leaving educational program, minor politics, entertainment and music behind,” it read.
