YABATECH ranks best polytechnic in Nigeria

Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has emerged as the best-ranked and number one polytechnic in Nigeria.
 
This is contained in the latest edition of Webometrics ranking released recently. The College was in seventh position in 2018 and in one year, moved to second position, and subsequently ranked number one in 2021.

YABATECH’s Public Relations Officer, Joe Ejiofor, said the college has had several developments, which led to the current ranking.
 
He listed some of the developmental projects to include conducive learning environment with massive renovation and upgrading of entire structures to international standard; digitalisation of the library with modern e-learning facilities, unveiling the largest museum, strengthening of academic and administrative activities and making them IT – driven to keep abreast of current trends.

According to him, Webometrics is a form of ranking web for world’s higher institutions based on a composite indicator that takes into account both the volume of the web content, visibility and impact of this web publication.
 
He said: “YABATECH management being a responsible, responsive and proactive one is committed to improving the college ranking in the world, in line with its vision to be the leading polytechnic in Africa.”
