Toyin Abraham’s Alakada: Bad & Boujee hits ₦500million at box office

Actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has hit a new milestone as her latest film, Alakada: Bad and Boujee, grosses ₦500 million at the Nigerian box office.
This figure officially places the film as the fifth highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, March 19, 2025, by FilmOne Entertainment, the distribution company behind the film.

In their words, “Alakada: Bad and Boujee smashes records with ₦500M at the box office, cementing its place as the 5th highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time!”
Reacting to the news, Toyin took to Instagram on Friday to express her gratitude to fans and collaborators.
“Grateful for every step of this journey! From day one, I’ve always pushed myself to surpass my last achievement…, ” she wrote.
Before Alakada: Bad and Boujee, the fifth position was previously held by Wunmi Toriola’s Queen Lateefah, which earned ₦269.5 million.
The current top five highest-grossing Nollywood films are:
Everybody Loves Jenifa (2024) — ₦1.88 billion
A Tribe Called Judah (2023) — ₦1.4 billion
Battle on Buka Street (2022) — ₦668.4 million
Omo Ghetto: The Saga (2020) — ₦636.1 million
Alakada: Bad and Boujee (2024) — ₦500 million
Directed by Adebayo Tijani and written by Toyin Abraham, the film is the latest in the Alakada series.
